Joy beyond circumstances

We are more often lead by our emotions than we actually should. Confusion, disappointment, anger, jealousy etc.

Our social network page has become the easiest way for us to express these emotions. I was used to that too, using all the possible feelings provided by my page to show how bad, broken, furious I was. Until one of my friend made me realise that the enemy wants me to base my life on how I feel and not what I know. Posting those negative feelings were only a way to voice out but how long I let myself to be in that state was my choice.

I encourage you to choose the other way. I know that saying something is easy and doing it takes a little more effort from our side. When you feel that the situation you are in and the emotions that it’s generating is taking over you talk to God. You might be angry at him and even ask him why he let all these happen or feel like he abandoned you but know that these thoughts are only based on how you feel at the moment because deep inside you know the truth. The truth of all the promises of God.

Do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. ( Nehemiah 8:10)

No weapon that is formed against you will prosper ( Isaiah 54:17)

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. ( 2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher than I ( Psalm 61:2)

Choose the truth and don’t let the enemy take over. Choose to stick to the word no matter how you feel. Drop it down instead as your status. Confess it and watch God change the mess you are into a message.
